Imo State University routinely demands egunje from students

Date Paid: 4-10-2013 19:33:13 | City: Owerri
Date Reported: 2013-10-27 20:57:56 | Department: Education

Office/Company: MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
Transaction: Academic Processes
Bribe Type: Personal
Detail: After confirming that I passed my final degree exams at Imo State University (IMSU), I needed to collect my statement of result and to have my name sent to NYSC. Little did I know that the 5 years of routine extortion of money that I have known since the day I registered as a student of the university would still continue. I was told that I would pay certain fees that I had already paid in Year 1 all over again. I was shocked beyond belief when my classmates including a serving policeman started paying the money. Although I had receipts from the payments I made years ago, I was blatantly told that my receipts were worthless and I either paid the money or forfeit my chance of graduating and going for NYSC. I paid that money with bitterness and tears. It shall never be well for the authorities at IMSU who are supervising this daylight robbery of the already dispossessed.
