You can start off by logging in and select the PIA Training/Certification option on your Activity page to start off this activity. You will be contacted via email with further information on how to proceed.
- Becoming a Counsellor (Eligibility and How to participate)
A lot of people refuse to report that they’ve suffered from acts of corruption because they fear retribution. As a result, they continue to suffer under the burden of oppression.
But you as a trained Public Integrity Advocate know that there is no reason to fear reprisals and that the system can indeed act on reports of corruption reported in the right way. Can you continue to allow your fellow Nigerians suffer? Will you stand by and watch while they are deprived of their fundamental human rights?
Become a counselor and use this opportunity to teach people how to seek redress on instances of social injustice and corruption. You can guide them to the right agencies to make their complaints and even help them follow up on their personal cases.
Login and select the ‘Become a Counselor’ option on your Activity page to start off this activity. You will be contacted via email with further information on how to proceed.
- Establishing a Public Integrity Center (Eligibility criteria, How to participate)
Becoming a counselor is just the first step to helping people overcome oppression and corruption. Setting up a Public Integrity Center, provides a physical location where local residents can come for counseling or make reports of corrupt activities in their community. The Public Integrity Center will become the hub of that region, where Counselors, PIAs and PICs can come to hold meetings and make plans to flush out the corrupt while building public integrity at the same time.
To set up a Public Integrity Center:
- You need at least 3 certified Public Integrity Advocates who live within the same geographical location
- All the PICs above should have enough points on the EgunjeDotInfo Points system to add up to a total of 150,000 points.
To apply, submit your name and ID Number as well as the names and ID numbers of those who will be part of the founding members for the Public Integrity Center.
- Implementing Integrity plans
PIAs/PICs in charge of Integrity Centers are able to implement Integrity Plans. An Integrity plan is an opportunity for the members of the Public Integrity Center to do something beneficial for their local community that will improve awareness. It could be a local rally, a community building exercise or an awareness campaign.
If you wish to implement an integrity plan, send a letter indicating your intentions and outlining your plan to info@integritynigeria.org
